The first
RAGE was released seven years ago and hardly anyone had asked for a sequel to the id Software shooter before its official announcement at Bethesda's E3 2018 media briefing. While the majority of players and critics agreed that
RAGE was an underwhelming and short experience set in a depressing, but quite beautiful post-apocalyptic world, the sequel has a chance to right those wrongs.
RAGE 2, that is being developed mostly at Avalanche, the creators of
Mad Max and the
Just Cause series, will reportedly offer players a variety of visual variations across the post-apocalyptic world, involving five distinct biomes, each popping with color and begging to be explored.
RAGE 2 will give you a chance to fight mutants in swamplands, underground cities, forests, and naturally, the deserts.
GameInformer's extended coverage of
RAGE 2 continues in the latest video that features nearly 20 minutes of never-before-seen gameplay that you can check out down below. According to the editors that already played the game, it's easiest to describe it as an "open-world
Bulletstorm," so if you liked the People Can Fly-created action-packed shooter, you may also want to give
RAGE 2 a try. Take a look:
In the year 2185, humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule who remains with an iron fist. You are Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland. Robbed of your home and left for dead, you’ll tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling bloodthirsty gangs to find the tools and tech needed to take the fight to The Authority and crush their oppressive rule once and for all!
RAGE 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 14, 2019.
