Following some pretty intense backlash from the gaming community, EA has moved swiftly to correct in-game pricing for unlockable characters in Star Wars Battlefront 2.

As it was recently discovered, unlocking a new hero without microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2 could take upwards of 40 hours thanks to a slow grinding process for credits. Based on both player feedback and online criticism, EA has decided to adjust the cost of unlocking some of the game's heroes, including Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.

"Unlocking a hero is a great accomplishment in the game, something we want players to have fun earning," EA said in a blog post today. "We used data from the beta to help set those levels, but it’s clear that more changes were needed."

An update has already been released, reducing the amount of credits required to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits.

"Based on what we’ve seen in the trial, this amount will make earning these heroes an achievement, but one that will be accessible for all players," EA added, assuring fans that they will continue to listen to player feedback in order to consistently improve the game experience over time. In fact, this Wednesday, EA will host a Reddit AMA for fans to come and interact with some of the key leads on the team.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 officially releases on November 17, 2017, but is available as an early access trial on Xbox One and PC via EA Access and Origin Access.
