Star Wars Battlefront 2 will introduce Original Trilogy content next month with the Age of Rebellion. DICE didn't get too much into specifics, but did mention specific planets for both Co-Op and, later on, Supremacy, as well as the "prospect of playing as Luke, Leia, Darth Vader and more" Original Trilogy characters.
The arrival of the Original Trilogy means a name change to Capital Supremacy which will henceforth be called Supremacy so that it can better encompass all eras of Star Wars. The Original Trilogy variant of the game mode will be fought exclusively on the ground as DICE feels ground combat is a better fit for some of the locations, including Scarif. The fan-favorite map from 2015's Star Wars Battlefront will be debuting next month.
While Age of Rebellion is still a few weeks away, Star Wars Battlefront 2's next major update will be arriving on Monday, February 3. The "BB Update" will introduce two new playable droid heroes: BB-8 and BB-9E.
The BB Update will also bring Age of Resistance to Supremacy. When the update hits, you'll be boarding the MC85 Star Cruiser and Resurgent-class Star Destroyer. Three planets will be available in Age of Resistance Supremacy: Ajan Kloss, Jakku, and Takodana. The BB Update will also feature a number of gameplay and quality of life changes, including an expansion of the Era select menu, Auto Player improvements, and balance tweaks.
More information about the BB Update and Age of Rebellion content can be found over on EA's forums. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is now availble on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
