Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to officially release this week on November 17th, but EA is already looking ahead to post-launch content. The developer detailed this week the plans for Star Wars Battlefront 2's first "season" of content, which will come in the form of single-player and multiplayer DLC inspired by the upcoming film Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Star Wars Battlefront 2's The Last Jedi Season of content is set to arrive in December, and will introduce new heroes, maps, vehicles, and more to multiplayer. For those who enjoy the solo experience, it will also bring a new chapter in the game's story mode which centers around Iden Versio, the leader of an Imperial Special Forces group called Inferno Squad.
EA briefly outlined the schedule of events coming with The Last Jedi Season.
December 13th is the big day to look forward to as most of The Last Jedi content will arrive on that day. Captain Phasma and Finn will become playable, and you will be able to purchase them with in-game Credits. Additionally, the planetary map "Crait" from The Last Jedi will become available, as will the Starfighter Assault map of "D'Qar." Tallie Lintra's RZ-2 A-wing will be added as a new hero ship, while Poe Dameron's T-70 X-wing will be upgraded with a new ability inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi. For single-player, the story mode will receive new chapters called "Resurrection" which will follow Commander Iden Versio during the days of the First Order's rise to power.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 officially releases on November 17, 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It's currently available as a trial on Xbox One and PC as part of the EA/Origin Access subscription service. As a reminder, all of this expansion content will be completely free for players as EA decided earlier to
completely scrap a season pass for for Star Wars Battlefront 2.
