Back in December, a job listing suggested that Respawn Entertainment were already at work on a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and, more recently, the very reputable source that is Kotaku's Jason Schreier declared that a sequel was in the works — more on that here.
So, it's all but confirmed. Besides, why wouldn't Respawn Entertainment sieze to opportunity to make a sequel to their best-selling title? Well, thanks to a new report by Bespin Bulletin, we may well now know when to expect the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel to release.
It's said that work on the sequel began as soon as they concluded their work on the first instalment. Apparently, the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel isn't slated to release next year but rather the one after that — 2022. Bespin Bulletin tends to be privy to inside knowledge when it comes to Star Wars, so we're inclined to believe their report.
That wasn't all to their recent report, though, as they also mentioned a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront II. Unfortunately for fans of Electronic Arts and DICE's multiplayer Star Wars games; it seems that history is repeating itself and Star Wars Battlefront III is not in the works.
What's more, Lucasfilm's partnership with Electronic Arts will be concluding in 2023 which means that another instalment may never see the light of day. It would depend on whether the Star Wars company renews their licensing agreement with Electronic Arts.
What's next for DICE? Well, Electronic Arts recently announced that they will no longer be supporting Star Wars Battlefront II with post-launch content updates but rather be moving on to work on a new Battlefield game for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Find out more on that here.
