Superstar Twitch and Kick streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has officially announced his latest big project, the Marvel Rivals xQc Invitational, a $250,000 online tournament set to take place on May 9th. This high-stakes event marks one of the first major competitive showcases for Marvel Rivals, a 6v6 team-based PvP shooter featuring iconic characters from across the Marvel multiverse.

A Mega Event Backed by xQc and Marvel

xQc dropped the news during his April 20th livestream in his typical spontaneous fashion. Check out the clip down below:

“Chat, I’ve been working on this for months now, and finally I can kind of, like, announce it. May 9, put it on your schedule: xQc Marvel [Rivals] Invitational, $250k prize pool.”

He explained that the prize pool is a joint effort between himself and Marvel, with a large portion funded directly out of his own pocket.

“I’m putting in a lot of my money in the prize pool and Marvel is also in the prize pool. Mega tournament. Massive things.”

This event represents xQc’s return to tournament hosting, something he’s wanted to do for some time. “It’s finally happening,” he confirmed, calling it “100% locked in.”

Full Creative Control – With a Twist

Unlike many influencer events, xQc will have full creative control, organizing the format, selecting participants, and possibly competing and commentating himself.

“I hope I can make it a good, balanced, and cool event… I might do a kind of dual production thing where, like, I’m trying to win as well. And if I’m out or not, I can cast the other games.”

While the full lineup of participants is still under wraps, xQc confirmed the invitational will include top-tier streamers and creators across Twitch, Kick, and other platforms.

From Pro Gamer to Streaming Titan

xQc originally rose to prominence as a professional Overwatch player with the Dallas Fuel, before transitioning into content creation. Since then, he’s become one of the most recognizable faces in the streaming industry, recently signing a $100 million deal with Kick in 2023.

This tournament signals not only a major moment for Marvel Rivals but also a bold return for xQc into the competitive spotlight as a host, organizer, and maybe even a player (probably playing as Strange or Groot in the tank role).

Which streamers or people would you like see compete in the tournament? Who do you think would win it all? Will you be watching it in May? Let us know your answers in the comments section below!

I tried this game - as I love Superheroes. I prefer DC, but Marvel can be fun.
I found that it's a 1000% Overwatch ripoff but the gameplay, and visuals are horrid. It's almost impossible to tell what's going on. It's ok, it's not that fun IMO, but it's got that NetMarble loot structure which can be addicting.
