ALIEN: ISOLATION Reportedly Looks Better On The Nintendo Switch Than It Does On The PlayStation 4

Alien: Isolation is now available for the Nintendo Switch. The science-fiction horror title has been available for basically every other platform since 2014.

Developed by Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive, Alien: Isolation sees the player take up the role of Ellen Ripley's daughter as she aims to find out what happened to her long-lost mother. However, Amanda find herself up against a horrifying xenomorph and rogue androids.

What usually comes with a Nintendo Switch-port is the expectation of slightly downgraded graphics. However, this isn't the case for Alien: Isolation as Digital Foundry believe that the title looks even better on Nintendo's handheld console than it does on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The experts state that "the Switch version is substantially cleaner in motion," and still looks more attractive and cleaner than the older versions even when the resolution occasionally dips below 1080p. There are still some graphical drawbacks, but not enough for Digital Foundry to go back on their words that Alien: Isolation on the Switch is "a remarkable conversion of a brilliant game."

Check out Digital Foundry's breakdown below — along with the official gameplay trailer:

When she left Earth, Ellen Ripley promised her daughter she would return home to celebrate her 11th birthday. She never made it. Fifteen years later, Amanda Ripley learns that the flight recorder from her mother’s ship has been recovered. Amanda enters Sevastopol space station to finally solve the mystery of her mother’s disappearance, only to confront an unknown menace.

Alien: Isolation is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Linux and Mac.
