FAR CRY 6 Will Reportedly Be Revealed On July 12th During Ubisoft Forward Game Showcase

Far Cry 6 will apparently be revealed next month during Ubisoft's upcoming game showcase (on June 12th). What's more, the game will reportedly be set in an exotic location — unlike its predecessor.

On July 12th, at 12 PM PDT, Ubisoft Forward will be taking place. It's a game showcase that will essentially be serving as the replacement for Ubisoft's E3 conference this year — as E3 2020 has been canceled on account of COVID-19.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft revealed that they're planning to drop five triple-A games between April 2020 and March 2021. Three were confirmed by the company — those being Watch Dogs LegionGods and Monsters, and Rainbow Six Quarantine — but Ubisoft stopped short of confirming the other two games beyond stating that they're a part of its "biggest franchises."

Not long after that, reputable journalist Jason Schreier claimed that the mysterious pair of games are new installments in the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry franchises. We now know the former to be true, what with Assassin's Creed Valhalla having been officially revealed at the end of April — more on that here. But what of the other one?

Well, a new report by Danish site GameReactor.dk claims that Far Cry 6 will be revealed next month during the Ubisoft Forward event. While they stop short of revealing too much about the game, it's said that those who weren't fond of Far Cry 5's North American setting will be fond of Far Cry 6. So, it seems we're in for an exotic island — which was the franchise's norm.

It's not a bold claim by any means but it does line up with all of the aforementioned information. Perhaps the exotic setting could tie-in with Vaas actor Michael Mando seemingly teasing that the fan-favorite character would be returning soon — more on that here.
