After suffering multiple delays, Grand Theft Auto VI appears to be on track to meet its newly announced launch date of November 19, 2026. During Take-Two’s Q3 2026 earnings call, Rockstar’s parent company reassured investors about the game’s progress, confirming that marketing for the blockbuster title will begin this summer.

A follow-up press release sent to IGN reiterated the company’s confidence, stating, "Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer."

In an interview earlier in the day, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN he was feeling confident about the game’s November release date, assuring the outlet, “I feel good about it. Very good about it.”

However, Zelnick had previously said he “felt good” about the original fall 2025 release date, which was announced before the game was delayed twice. When asked whether his confidence was different this time around, the Take-Two boss didn’t hesitate.

“Of course,” he replied. “Any time you’re getting closer to marketing beats, you’re obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be.”

Zelnick's reassurance comes about a month after reports surfaced that GTA 6 was still not content complete. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that Rockstar developers were "still finishing things up, still finalizing levels, and missions, and seeing what is going to make it into the game.” As a result, he believed that no one at Rockstar could say with "with 100% certainty" that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be released in November.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is shaping up to be the biggest release of the year with Take-Two raising financial forecasts and citing strong anticipation for the game's release. Industry analysts and research firms are projecting record-breaking revenue for the game with some estimates suggesting it could be among the biggest entertainment launches ever. Some predictions even call for over $7 billion in revenue within the first 60 days of its launch.

While GTA 6 is sure to face competition during the holiday window from other AAA titles like Marvel's WolverineResident Evil Requiem, and more, none of these match GTA 6 in scale. Even in the 12-year-old GTA 5 continues to be a huge moneymaker for Take-Two, "vastly" outpacing the publishers forecasts. GTA 5, which first launched in Septmber 2013, has now sold over 225 million units.
