It's common knowledge that Valve is not good at counting to three and there's a reason why Half-Life 2, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and DOTA 2 are the last games in their respective series. While it's still unclear if Valve is working on anything else than their card game Artifact, it appears that they might be getting the Half-Life team back together with the return of Episode 1 and 2's writer Erik Wolpaw.

Wolpaw used to be a core developer at Valve, as he co-wrote some of their most popular video games, including Half-Life 2: Episodes One and Two, Portal, Portal 2, and Left 4 Dead. He left Valve in early 2017, and has since then also been credited as co-writer on the upcoming Psychonauts sequel.

According to Shack News and Founder of Valve News Network Tyler McVicker, Wolpaw has recently rejoined Valve. While this information hasn’t officially been confirmed by either Valve or Wolpaw himself, the writer is actually mentioned in the credits of Valve’s most recent Artifact.

It's not the only evidence, as the leaked email conversation between Valve Corporation Cofounder CEO Gabe Newell and an anonymous has been doing rounds on the internet featuring Nawell's claim that Wolpaw is working at Valve again, following in Portal 2 Co-Writer Jay Pinkerton and Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2 Senior Programmer Adrian Finol’s footsteps, who re-joined the developer last year.
