Scott Cawthon, creator of the Five Nights at Freddy's game series, recently provided an update on the franchise's movie adaptation and has also announced that he's working on HD ports of every instalment for consoles.

The remakes, which he says are 20% complete, will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. Cawthon explained, in a Steam post, as such: "I’m working closely with the people at Clickteam to create new, improved, HD ports of all of the original games! They will be released on Android, iOS, Switch, XBox and PlayStation!"

There are currently seven instalments in the horror game series - four of those being the main series, and the others being spinoffs. Whether all seven are to be upgraded remains to be seen, especially considering that only the first three will be canon to the currently in-development movie - as Cawthon revealed in the same post.

What do you think of Cawthon's statement? Would you like to see HD remakes of the Five Nights at Freddy's games?

The Five Nights at Freddy's games are out now on Steam.
