When
Mega Man Legacy Collection was released on the Nintendo Switch, it included an interesting featured called Rewind which, as the name appropriately suggests, allows players to rewind any of the 6 games at the press of a button.
This feature comes in handy for some people, especially newcomers to the
Mega Man series, since it can help them get past those unforgiving sections the Blue Bomber games are known for.
The Nintendo Switch version of
Mega Man Legacy Collection was released almost three years after the original was released, so the Rewind was probably an afterthought that wasn't added in the original versions and simply was included on the Switch version because they had more time to develop the game; that is until now, though.
Today, Capcom has released a new patch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam versions of
Mega Man Legacy Collection, which adds the Nintendo Switch Rewind feature, so now players can enjoy this new feature on every platform...except the Nintendo 3DS.
It is unknown if the patch updates anything else besides adding the Rewind feature, especially since
Mega Man Legacy Collection has terrible input lag issues that may not be noticeable for most players but hardcore fans of the series and speedrunners were quick to notice these issues. Hopefully Capcom has already patched those performance issues, or at least are planning on fixing them at some point.
Featuring faithful reproductions of the series’ origins with the original six Mega Man games, the Legacy Collection will remind long-time fans and introduce newcomers to what made Mega Man such a popular and iconic character.
Mega Man Legacy Collection is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
