Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is a game that comes as a spiritual successor to the classic
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, which was released in 1989 for the Sega Master System.
The Cursed Kingdom, however, is a game based on the remake of
Wonder Boy II: The Dragon's Trap, simply titled
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap—released for all current consoles and Steam in 2017.
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom was initially scheduled to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on the 28th of August but was delayed to the
6th of November. The game has, once again, been delayed and will not be releasing in November but on the
4th of December instead.
The reason for the delay is that production for the physical card/disc package met some unforseen difficulties, which forced the developer to reschedule the release date. It is also worth mentioning that only the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will include physical copies, the Xbox One and Steam versions will only release digitally.
Can Jin save Monster World Kingdom? Help our young hero defeat challenging enemies, discover hidden locations, upgrade powerful equipment, and more! You'll also unlock special forms with unique skills used to open new paths where mighty bosses and secret treasures await.
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam on the 4th of December.
