There hasn't been a new
Saints Row video game since 2013. There is a movie adaptation of the irreverent video game series in the works with Greg Russo attached as writer —
more on that here. Back in August, THQ Nordic confirmed that there's a new video game instalment in the works at Volition and that it has been for a while.
The developer teased that the presumably titled
Saints Row V will be
"big, bold, and very badass." In a recent interview with
GamesIndustry, Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz revealed that we'll be hearing more about the next
Saints Row game in 2020.
"With Volition, we have the creators of all the Saints Row games as an internal studio and they’re not going to be distracted by anything else from creating our next game under this important franchise. Saints Row is very close to our hearts, and we’ll talk about it next year. For the time being, we just wanted to get the word out that it’s coming and it’s going to be great," Kundratitz explained.
Back in August, when THQ Nordic announced that there's a new
Saints Row game in the works, it was speculated that the game could release prior to March 2021. This is because the publisher said that they plan to release at least two AAA titles before that date. This new information from the Koch Media CEO clearly lines up with that.
