Coming out of the game's reveal at Square Enix's E3 2019 panel; one of the most criticised aspects of Marvel's Avengers was its graphics — second only to its character design. However, one of the stars of the upcoming superhero game recently participated in an interview in which he lauded them as fantastic.
Nolan North is one of the most seasoned voice actor in the industry. For years, he starred as Nathan Drake in the
Uncharted series. He's also featured in
The Last of Us,
Call of Duty,
Destiny,
Halo,
Batman: Arkham,
Borderlands, the list goes on and on. In Marvel's Avengers, he'll be playing the role of Tony Stark A.K.A. Iron Man.
Speaking to
Gamebyte, North praised the visuals of
Marvel's Avengers. Based on North's aformentioned previous work, his opinion should really hold some weight. Apparently, the visuals of
Marvel's Avengers blew him away. Specifically, the renowned voice actor was impressed with how seamlessly the game transitions between cutscene and gameplay.
“It absolutely is one of the most stunning things…You can’t tell where in-game cinematics and gameplay [separate]…it’s so seamless." This is often where games falter — as a game's actual graphics often don't hold a candle when compared to the look of their cinematics.
“You always worry that [a game] looks so good, and then you get the game and you’re like, ‘oh gameplay doesn’t look as good.’ [Avengers] really, visually, it’s one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen. And obviously with The Last of Us, Uncharted, they’re amazing, but [Avengers] blew me away.”
Marvel's Avengers is set to release on May 15th, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
