Last month, a supposed leak surfaced, which seemed to reveal that Civilisation VI, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and ARK: Survival Evolved would soon be available for free from Epic Games Store — as you can see here. It turns out this leak was accurate, for the most part, at least.
After Grand Theft Auto V was available for free for a week, Civilisation VI was introduced and then Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. However, the next free game did not turn out to be ARK: Survival Evolved but rather Overcooked. As for why the prophecy didn't come true when it comes to ARK: Survival Evolved, we haven't a clue.
Nonetheless, Overcooked is now available for free from Epic Games Store and will be for a limited time. On June 11th, Overcooked will be replaced by the next free game. That means you have until then to add Overcooked to your library. It's entirely free; all you require is an Epic Games Store account. Here's a link to the game's Epic Games Store page.
What is Overcooked? Well, it's a chaotic couch co-op game for up to four players. While working as a team, players must act as chefs and prepare, cook, and serve orders for customers. Respectively, Overcooked was developed and published by Ghost Town Games and Team17. Overcooked initially released back in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
In 2017, the game also came to the Nintendo Switch. A sequel eventually followed, that being Overcooked 2, releasing for the same platforms in 2018. Overcooked is pretty well-regarded, even earning two BAFTA Games Awards in the categories "Best British Game" and "Best Family Game."
Overcooked is a chaotic couch co-op cooking game for one to four players,” a preview of the game read. “Working as a team, you and your fellow chefs must prepare, cook and serve up a variety of tasty orders before the baying customers storm out in a huff. Sharpen your knives and dust off your chef’s whites, there isn’t mushroom for error and the steaks are high in these crazy kitchens!
Overcooked is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
