The official announcement of Path of Exile's PlayStation 4 couldn't have been any better, as Grinding Gear Games revealed that this acclaimed hack'and'slash would be coming to PS4 literally hours after BlizzCon 2018 and the "unfortunate" showcase of the mobile version of Diablo titled Immortal. The game was supposed to be released for Sony's console system in December, but the plan has changed.

Grinding Gear Games has announced that Path of Exile won't be ready at PS4 launch. In a blog post, the studio revealed that they "underestimated the amount of work it would take to finish the certification process during the busy Christmas period. While we hope to have everything ready in January, we feel a lot more comfortable promising early February as a target release window."

Thankfully, one thing hasn't changed at all, as the upcoming major Path of Exile expansion titled Betrayal is still coming to Xbox One and PC on December 15, introducing players to a mysterious organization known as The Immortal Syndicate. While there's no set release date for Path of Exiles' PS4 version (that will feature Betrayal at launch), it sounds like it will hit stores before end of February.

You are an Exile, struggling to survive on the dark continent of Wraeclast, as you fight to earn power that will allow you to exact your revenge against those who wronged you. Created by hardcore gamers, Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in a dark fantasy world.

Path of Exile is available for Xbox One and PC NOW, with the PlayStation 4 version delayed to 2019.
