Rocket League went free-to-play just last month, which means anyone on any platforms can take part in the explosive fun. What's more, you need not even be subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online nor PlayStation Plus to play Rocket League online — find out more about that here.
Like many other games, Rocket League puts on seasonal in-game events for holidays such as Christmas and Halloween. Wouldn't you know it; Halloween is just a week away. Thus, Rocket League's "Haunted Hallows" in-game event has begun. This in-game event introduces a plethora of spooky content to get you in the mood for the forthcoming night of terror.
Most notably, this event has reintroduced a plethora of content based on the Ghostbusters movies to the game. For instance, Ecto-1, a goal explosion featuring Stay Puft, a Slimer topper, and more are now available in the item shop for a limited time.
Additionally, the Haunted Hallows event has introduced "Haunted Heatseeker." It's basically the same as the usual Heatseeker mode but it takes place in a spooky new arena. What's more, 2XP is now live in-game and will be until Monday (via @RocketLeague).
Rocket League is a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem with easy-to-understand controls and fluid, physics-driven competition. Rocket League includes casual and competitive Online Matches, a fully-featured offline Season Mode, special “Mutators” that let you change the rules entirely, hockey and basketball-inspired Extra Modes, and more than 500 trillion possible cosmetic customization combinations.
