MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA Will Not Have Any Single-Player DLC

Could this one misstep be the end of the Mass Effect franchise? Apparently there are no plans for a sequel or even DLC for Andromeda.

A Facebook post from fans, that ultimately proved to be fake, perpetuated that there would be no single-player DLC for Mass Effect: Andromeda.  Inquiring into the matter further, Kotaku discovered that the Facebook page was indeed run by a fan account but when they reached out to their Bioware sources, they learned that surprisingly enough, there actually wouldn't be any single-player DLC.  So for those hoping that expansions to the story and additional side missions would improve the general consensus regarding the game, this is a huge blow.

Since launching the game, BioWare has released patches to improve things like facial animation but details on any DLC have been quite.  As we previously reported, Bioware Montreal has largely been dismantled and absorbed by the game developer's lead studio in Edmonton.  So for DLC for Andromeda to exist, it would have needed to have been completed prior to the game's release.  It appears that isn't the case, and the skeleton team currently keeping watching over Andromeda multiplayer just isn't enough for a DLC expansion.

GameInformer got an official response from Bioware publisher Electronic Arts, who simply stated, "We have no DLC details regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda to announce at this time."
