Terra Branford is returning to a new Final Fantasy release. Square Enix has confirmed that the half-Esper protagonist of Final Fantasy 6 will appear as a Vision in Final Fantasy Resonance when the game launches on October 22, 2026.
Final Fantasy Resonance is an offline HD-2D reimagining of the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which ended service in October 2024. Developed by Square Enix and Lancarse, the new title brings the Visions system into a single-player experience built in the visual style popularized by Octopath Traveler and the Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes. Visions function similarly to summons, allowing players to call upon iconic characters from across the Final Fantasy series during battle.
Terra is one of a full set of Visions that represent the mainline numbered entries. The confirmed roster includes the Warrior of Light, Firion, Luneth, Cecil, Bartz, Terra, Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus, Shantotto, Vaan, Lightning, Y’shtola, Noctis, and Clive. Each character brings signature abilities into the new game. In Terra’s case, her Vision sequence shows her entering the Trance state that defined her strongest moments in Final Fantasy 6 while performing Riot Blade, a powerful attack that deals heavy damage to enemies.
