Square Enix is pushing forward with recording the voice actors for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 as the story wrapped up back in January. While no official release date was given by the studio itself, rumor on the street is it will be out in 2027.

An X user spotted Cloud voice actor Cody Christian sharing on his Instagram story what illuded to potentially the start of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3's recording as we see the line “So happy to be back with my bestie” with a depiction of Cloud adorned atop the text. If it wasn't for the drawing of Cloud, this could've been any number of roles that the actor has picked up.

That said, as it stands, Cloud is the only established character that we know could be considered his "bestie" considering he's been the voice of Cloud since Final Fantasy 7 Remake back in 2020. Basically, we highly doubt he's promoting some secretive project that no one knows about and labeling whatever character he's playing as his "bestie."

This would make sense to be the timeline of recording voice lines, though, as Tetsuya Nomura has said he wants to keep to a similar length of development to the previous entry, which took three years. Now, this is the ideal for Nomura and things could get in the way, but we highly doubt anything will get in the way of Final Fantasy 7's third part of the remake series.

Christian has certainly come a long way since he debuted as Cloud, having expressed nervousness in an interview with GameFragger back in 2020 as well as sharing that he'd never had first-hand experience with the entry, but rather got his knowledge of the game from watching a playthrough of the original and his brother, who grew up playing it.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth garnered a new audience following a successful launch on Steam earlier this year, garnering over 40,000 peak players on PC and a couple thousand still playing right now. This is probably because while many may be turned off by the idea of taking the same story, Rebirth especially more used the story as a template and built onto it, making it its own thing.

Hopefully, the rumors are true and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, or whatever Square Enix decides to name this one, will release sometime in 2027 and it's all-too-likely that it will be a multiplatform release, too.
