A sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is officially on the way. Publisher 505 Games and its parent company Digital Bros have confirmed that the project is in development under the leadership of the original game’s creative director, Xia Siyuan. Siyuan has established a new studio called Indolphinity to handle development. 505 Games will fund the project and serve as publisher. Digital Bros now fully owns the Wuchang IP after the original developer, Leenzee Games, was dissolved following the first game’s launch.
No release window, platforms, or specific details about the sequel’s story or gameplay have been shared yet. Given that Indolphinity is a newly formed studio and the project appears to be in its early stages, a multi-year development cycle is expected.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launched on July 24, 2025, as an action RPG with clear soulslike and hack-and-slash influences. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game drew attention for its combat, setting, and visual style. It achieved strong commercial results, including high concurrent player counts on Steam and several million players across platforms in its first months. Critical reception was generally positive, though the PC version faced performance complaints at launch, and some design decisions generated controversy, particularly in China.
After Leenzee’s closure left the IP without an active developer, Digital Bros stepped in to secure the rights. Bringing Siyuan back through his new studio signals an effort to continue the series with the person most closely tied to its original vision. In comments tied to the announcement, the focus has been on delivering a more polished experience that takes player feedback into account while staying true to the game’s cultural roots.
For now, the sequel remains in the early announcement phase. Fans of the first game will likely have to wait several years before more concrete information, such as gameplay footage or a target release window, becomes available. The involvement of the original creative director and continued support from 505 Games at least confirms that Wuchang will continue as an active franchise.
