Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is an upcoming 3D hack-and-slash video game based on the similarly titled animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky that aired from 2001 to 2004 — and was later revived in 2017 for one final season. You play as Jack and, samurai sword in-hand, must traverse a variety of timelines in order to defeat the nefarious entity known as Aku.
Adult Swim Games develops alongside Soleil. The latter is a Japanese game studio known for adapting other anime series into games such as
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. It's said that
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Summer 2020 (that's as close to a release date as we have at the moment).
Darrick Bachman, series head writer, penned the game's script.
IGN were made privy to the announcement trailer (via
