PS4 and Xbox One owners will finally have a unique opportunity to descend into the depths of an alien underwater world, as critically acclimated Subnautica will launch on the consoles December 4th, 2018!

Subnautica is an open world survival adventure game that gives you a chance to explore the breathtaking (quite literally) underwater world of an alien ocean planet, also known as Planet 4546B. Unknown Worlds Entertainment's sleeper hit was first released in Steam Early Access four years ago and launched for macOS in 2015, as Xbox One users have had an opportunity to check out the beta version since May 2016.

The games full version launched for PC (via Steam) in January, as Subnautica’s final build is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 4th, 2018. You will be able to buy Subnautica digitally or on a physical disk and if you are in Europe, physical disk sales will start three days later, on December 7th. Many players have surely purchased Subnautica through Xbox Game Preview and they won't be forced to buy the game again, as all Game Preview copies will automatically become a full release copy on launch day.

"This is going to be Unknown World’s first console release. We are traditionally a PC game developer. So we are super nervous, and super excited," the studio explained in as special press release. Unknown Worlds has partnered with Panic Button Games, experts in console development that is helping the team to port the game The physical editions of Subnautica for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be released by Gearbox Publishing.



Subnautica is an underwater adventure game set on an alien ocean planet. A massive, open world full of wonder and peril awaits you! You have crash-landed on an alien ocean world, and the only way to go is down. Subnautica's oceans range from sun drenched shallow coral reefs to treacherous deep-sea trenches, lava fields, and bio-luminescent underwater rivers. Manage your oxygen supply as you explore kelp forests, plateaus, reefs, and winding cave systems. The water teems with life: Some of it helpful, much of it harmful.

Subnautica is available on PC NOW, coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 4th, 2018.
