In a very interesting turn of events, NIS America has announced that the
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection will no longer be a Nintendo Switch exclusive title, as the game has now been officially revealed to be coming out for the PlayStation 4.
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is a game that compiles 13 of some of SNK's classic, and most iconic titles from the NES era; with some of the games including both the original Arcade version, as well as the Home console version.
Nippon Ichi Software(NIS) also revealed that
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection was getting some free DLC that included some more classic SNK games — in addition to the 13 titles originally revealed for the base game.
The full list of titles is as follows:
Alpha Mission,
Athena,
Crystalis,
Ikari Warriors,
Victory Road,
Ikari III - The Rescue,
Prehistoric Isle,
Street Smart,
TNK III,
Vanguard,
Psycho Soldier,
P.O.W., and
Guerrilla War.
The DLC 1 for
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection included
Chopper I,
Fantasy,
Munch Mobile,
Sasuke vs. Commander, and
Time Soldiers, while the second batch of games included in DLC 2 are
Beast Busters,
Bermuda Triangle,
Ozma Wars,
Paddle Mania,
SAR: Search and Rescue, and
World War.
Now that
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is making its way into the PlayStation 4 on the
19th of March, SNK has released a charming new video that makes allusion to the classic 1981 commercial for SNK's
Vanguard on the Atari 2600 where "
Luther destroys the Big Bad".
