SEGA have out done themselves…
The scepticism surrounding Sonic Forces has been immense. Fans have been questioning the level design due to its linearity and lack of creativity. The demo that was recently released in Japan could have fixed all of this by winning over players with fast and exciting Sonic gameplay like that of Sonic Mania.
The demo smartly boasts three whole levels for fans to slug through; one for modern Sonic, one for classic Sonic and the final one for the avatar with the choice of weaponry so players can experience the game’s variety.
This demo should have won over players, but, instead, it does everything it can do to make you change over to Sonic Mania within a minute.
If you are looking forward to playing through the generous dose of three full levels, prepare to be disappointed as the demo ends after a whole, entire, plentiful minute.
Obviously, you can go back to the level selection and play the Eggman boss fight with classic Sonic, for a minute. Hopefully, you figure out how to skip in-game cutscenes because the generous minute of gameplay you’ll be experiencing is cut short by a 15 second cutscene of Eggman entering the Egg Dragoon.
Fortunately, this demo is saved by the great avatar level where players skilfully run forward whilst occasionally grappling forward. The avatar level also demonstrates the enticing combat where players must press the attack button to defeat all of the motionless enemies blocking the singular path forward.
Players can look forward to more than a minute of gameplay when the full game launches November 7th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
