It's launch day and Ubisoft's new space
Starlink: Battle for Atlas is ready to take off into space as the game releases for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. The game was revealed during this year's E3, and truth be told, one of the few reasons the game got the attention it did was an appearance by a very unusual guest character.
Nintendo's very own, and neglected,
Star Fox Team of Mercenaries was Ubisoft's card up their sleeve, which is something that absolutely no one saw coming. Nintendo and Ubisoft have always had good relations,
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle being solid proof of this, but seeing
Star Fox and his team joining an action space game like
Starlink: Battle for Atlas was definitely unexpected, and yet so fitting.
Earlier today,
Ubisoft released a fantastic trailer for Starlink: Battle for Atlas, proving that the game is a lot more than just a Star Fox cameo, although the game does seem to prominently feature Nintendo, making it look like the game may be a console exclusive even when it is actually being released on every platform.
Regardless, the game looks fantastic, the concept of the customisable ships in real time using toys is not new but seems to work wonderfully in
Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and
Star Fox being a Nintendo Switch console exclusive is definitely a plus for fans of the Big N.
Today, Nintendo has released another launch trailer for
Starlink: Battle for Atlas, which focuses on the
Star Fox Team of Mercenaries—as well as giving us glimpes of the story that will see the return of fan-favourite Star Wolf.
Take a look:
Lead a group of heroic interstellar pilots who use modular starships to mix and match their unique gear and skills on the fly. Travel the star system to unite the galaxy against villainous destructive forces.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas is available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One today.
