In announcing the soon-to-release story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft also accidentally revealed the launch date for the upcoming game.
First spotted by Gematsu, the date was leaked in the description of the Ubisoft Japan YouTube video for the Star Wars Outlaw trailer, which goes live today at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET.
While not officially announced yet, the supposed release date for Star Wars Outlaws is August 30, 2024. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The description also confirmed a Gold and Ultimate Edition of the game, which will include a Season Pass and three days early access. There will also be pre-order bonuses, including the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, which includes cosmetics for the Trailblazer spaceship and speeder.
The Japanese trailer and its description have since been removed, but the story trailer will debut today.
Revealed last summer, Star Wars Outlaw is the first open-world Star Wars game and is set between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Players will step into the boots of Kay Vess, a clever scoundrel in the galactic underworld who we will presumably learn more about today.
What we do know is that Kay Vess is seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Upon meeting the mysterious Jaylen, she is offered a way out of her current lifestyle -- but first, she and her loyal companion Nix must attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen.
As an open-world action RPG, players will embark on an adventure that takes them across the galaxy -- to Star Wars locations both old and new. The game will feature a mix of signature Star Wars combat, ranging from space dog fights to high-risk, high-reward missions. And the decisions you make as Kay will impact her reputation across the galaxy.
Kay and Nix will explore sprawling landscapes of Star Wars locations both old and new. Kay will race across the humid jungles of Akiva and the windswept savannah of Toshara on her speeder, then jump into the pilot seat of her ship, the Trailblazer, to travel to other parts of the galaxy. From dogfights to high-risk, high-reward missions from crime syndicates, the choices Kay makes can influence her ever-changing reputation. When Kay and Nix find themselves in a sticky situation, she’ll have her trusty blaster, can employ stealth and gadgets, or wait for the right moment to distract enemies.
