With Ubisoft Forward set to take place in just a few days, the publisher shared a new gameplay teaser for one of its most anticipated games: Star Wars Outlaws.
The latest teaser, shown during the Summer Game Fest showcase on Friday, gives us a glimpse of thrilling gameplay and open world adventure in the upcoming title. The trailer, while short, does manage to pack in quite a bit of exciting footage — including a shot of Lando Calrissian. We also see some explosive gameplay, including blaster battles on speeder bikes, space combat, and more.
But it's just a taste of what's to come as Ubisoft plans to share a more extended look at Star Wars Outlaws gameplay during Ubisoft Forward this week. The publisher's big event, which will showcase Star Wars Outlaws among their other big blockbuster titles, is set to take place on June 10th at 12:00 p.m. PDT / 3:00 p.m. EDT. Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Outlaws takes us to the criminal underworld. Playing gas Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, players will attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. But in doing so, they will also engage in a series of high-risk, high-reward missions where they'll steal and outwit their way through the galaxy's crime syndicates.
Star Wars: Outlaws is billed as the first-ever open world Star Wars game, which means players will explore distinct locations across the galaxy, both iconic and new. From bustling cities and cantinas to sprawling outdoor landscapes, each location promises new adventures and unique challenges filled with enticing rewards.
Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on August 30th, 2024, although players who purchase the Gold or Ultimate edition can play up to three days early. They will also receive the Season Pass, which has drawn a bit of controversy due to gatekeeping some launch day DLC.
In addition to each edition's various bonuses, anyone who pre-orders Star Wars Outlaws will receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, which comes with various cosmetics for your speeder and Trailblazer starship.
