According to Dontnod Entertainment, French studio behind Vampyr, Remember Me and the Life is Strange series, their upcoming "story-driven investigation game" Twin Mirror will be a truly wild ride for players. The (quite literally) mind-boggling thriller was officially announced during this year's E3 and is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One in 2019 published by Bandai Namco.

The game's premise is what makes in so fascinating. Imagine Christopher Nolan's Memento mixed with the gameplay mechanics of Life is Strange. The player will control Sam, who's returning to the rural town of Basswood. After the mysterious death of a local journalists, he wakes up naked in his bed. He doesn't remember how he get there and why he finds his clothes are soaked in blood.

To solve that mystery, Sam will enter the mind place, an abstract location where he can focus and find out what he actually did the night before. Dontnod promises that there will be a plenty of options to choose from and the journalist’s death is just a beginning of a much bigger and more complex story that involves Basswood's citizens. Be sure to check out the new gameplay trailer down below:

The death of a friend. A broken heart. A hometown that’s no longer home. With no memory of the night before and an ominously bloody shirt as his only clue, it’s time for Sam to find the truth.

Twin Mirror will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
