Bandai Namco announced, earlier today, that console game versions of
Taiko no Tatsujin have sold over an impressive 10 million copies since the series' inception; when the
Taiko no Tatsujin series went from arcades to its first console release back in 2004.
Back in November of last year, Bandai Namco released
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! for the PlayStation 4 and Taiko no
Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! for the Nintendo Switch; both being the exact same game, with the latter having motion controls implemented for the Joy-Con controllers.
Currently,
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! for the Nintendo Switch has sold over a very respectable 600,000 units since it's launch in November. with Bandai Namco releasing tomorrow a new versus mode for called "Donkatsu Fight" in a free update exclusive for the Nintendo Switch.
It is also worth mentioning that the Donkatsu Fight versus mode for
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! for the Switch will become available tomorrow as part of a free update, so it is likely that the game will continue to keep selling well on the Switch and on other consoles, in general.
The cult classic is back in two different flavors! Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! for the PS4 and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! for the Nintendo Switch.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session!/Drum 'n' Fun! are currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
