With The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, Supermassive Games is hoping to launch a new game series that will introduce players to two brand new stories every year featuring a different cast of characters, stories and environments. The first installment of that prospective Dark Pictures saga is titled Man of Medan taking place in the South Pacific, or maybe more specifically - a forgotten World War II wreck.

Speaking of forgotten World War II wrecks, Supermassive has released the very first developer dairy for Man of Madan, as the team dives into the details of how they created a terrifying ghost ship. In the video, artists and designers who work on The Dark Pictures chime in to talk about creating a terrifying setting for the cast of characters to navigate, but also ensuring a surprising level of authenticity.

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2019. Many PlayStation (and Until Dawn) fans might be worried that the studio has forgotten about its PS roots. According to Supermassive Games executive director Pete Samuels, it's not the case, as the developer is already working hard on a plenty of yet unannounced PS-exclusive titles. Check it out:

Man of Medan is the first game in the Dark Pictures Anthology, bringing supernatural horror to the South Pacific. As the player you’ll get to shape the story through your actions and decisions. Who will live, who will die - It’s all down to you...

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan comes out on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2019.
