The Adventures of Tintin, the popular comicbook series created by Belgian author Hergé, will soon be getting a video game adaptation — which has been described as an action-adventure game that will release for home consoles and PC in the near future.
French developer Microids will be in charge of development, while Moulinsart — the company that owns the series' distributon rights — will be publishing the upcoming title.
The developers have also revealed that Tintin, Captain Haddock, incompetent but loveable detectives Thompson and Thompson, Professor Calculus, and Tintin's loyal dog Snowy will all be part of The Adventures of Tintin video game; leaving pretty much no one behind.
What is definitely reassuring is the fact that Microroids Chief Executive Officer Stéphane Longeard has revealed that the team of developers are doing their best to deliver a game that will do the beloved character justice, and that they have been "willing to make this happen for quite some time."
"Our team members are fans of the famous reporter and will do their best to pay this franchise a vibrant homage," revealed Longeard. Moulinarts Director Nick Rodwell adds to this by stating that this partnership with Microids aims "to provide a mainstream audience with a fun and friendly game for everyone to enjoy."
Considering that this recently announced The Adventures of Tintin video game is in its very early stages of development, Microids has not revealed exactly what consoles the game will release for, or when it will launch. Regardless, this is great news for fans of the iconic Tintin series.
