Earthfall is a first-person sci-fi shooter that drops up to 4 players into a post-apocalyptic world that's ravaged by an alien invasion. The game lunched back in July, and while critics didn't fall in love with it (the title's highest-rated version (PC) currently sits at a rather mediocre 61% score on Metacritic), Seattle-based indie-game developer Holospark and Gearbox Publishing still believe in the game.
A brand new update for
Earthfall, titled
Invasion, launches today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. As you can probably guess,
Invasion brings a new horde survival game mode with four new maps, a new Player Progression system, new perks, new abilities, and even remastered audio for weapons. Thankfully, you won't have to pay to check it out, as the update is completely free on all platforms.
The Invasion Mode is Holospark's twist on classic horde mode, the most-recognizable online feature of the
Gears of War series. To battle through the unstoppable alien invasion, you will use advanced weaponry, constructible defenses, and printable guns. Gearbox Publishing (a Gearbox division that also launched
We Happy Few) has released a
