ATLAS is a brand new MMO from the creators of the vastly successful
ARK: SURIVAL EVOLVED, this time focusing on the pirate way of life. The title was officially announced during this year's Game Awards 2018 and was supposed to launch onto Steam Early Access this Thursday. Unfortunately, Instinct Games and Grapeshot Games need more time to polish
ATLAS that has been delayed by nearly a week.
"
After thinking carefully over the past several days, we've decided to delay the ATLAS launch until December 19th to give the team more time to run through this massive game's extensive content," the studio revealed on the game's Steam page. "
It's a vast virtual world out there across the ATLAS, and the team's going to use that extra time to review every portion of it thoroughly. We're sorry about the delay, and we know how much everyone is looking forward to establishing their empires!"
This new MMO will host 40,000 players simultaneously as they explore the pirate world. In the game, brave explorers will voyage to over 700 landmasses across 45,000 square kilometers, with thousands of Discovery Zones, and ten distinct world regions each having their own resources, creatures, and environment hazards. The Xbox One version of
ATLAS will launch sometime next year in Game Preview.
From the creators of ARK: Survival Evolved comes ATLAS - a massively multiplayer first-and-third-person fantasy pirate adventure.
