The first trailer for
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy and the recently released screenshots confirmed that the remaster will challenge 2016's
Ratchet & Clank and last year's
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for the title of the best-looking platformer of this generation of consoles. The latest short trailer spotlights the amazing difference between the upcoming remaster and 1998's version of
Spyro The Dragon.
The gameplay video starts with the naughty dragon kicking some old wizards and ends with Spyro burning innocent sheep, all that during wandering around a beautifully remastered version of the castle from the very first
Spyro title. As a reminder, the upcoming collection features the first three games with the purple hero:
Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
Developer Toys for Bob faces an uneasy task, as
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is the best-selling remaster of all time, or maybe "remake" would be a better word, considering the amount of work Vicarious Visions put into making the game. Toys for Bob is known for the last four
Skylanders games and the Nintendo Switch version of
Crash, and we will see pretty soon if
Spyro lives up to his legacy.
