Ubisoft Entertainment has released today the company's annual third-quarter 2017-18 sales results. The report indicates that thanks to smart marketing and applying the "games as a service" model to their newest, and even older games, Ubisoft is in better shape than ever before and its future is bright.
Ubisoft is on track to have its best year ever in FY18. Naturally,
Assassin's Creed Origins did not disappoint when it comes to results and it still tracking 2x ahead of
Syndicate. Asked by an investor if we will see a new
Assassin's Creed this year, CEO Yves Guillemot responded that Ubisoft is focusing on post launch content and that's all he can say,, so it's for the best to not expect
Origins 2 anytime soon.
The developer will launch four AAA titles between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019. We know that
The Crew 2 and
Skull & Bones will launch during that window. The other two games could be the next
Watch_Dogs, a new game made for Nintendo Switch and possibly something from the Tom Clancy's family (
Splinter Cell. Let it be a new Splinter Cell).
Here's the rest of important Ubisoft's announcements regarding the sales and the company's future. The owners of the Switch should be more that happy, as Ubisoft will support the system even harder after the successes of
Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Take a look:
€725.0 million in third-quarter sales, up 36.8% year on year, outstripping Ubisoft's revised target of around €700.0 million and its original target of €630.0 million.
