Warframe's
The Old Blood update launched today on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, introducing improved melee combat, a new warframe to play with, and an entirely new mechanic known as the Kuva Lich.
The Old Blood has been one of this year's most anticipated updates and has been available on PC for a few weeks now, so console players are probably very excited to go hands-on with the new content.
Most notable is the Kuva Lich, a new gameplay system in which you can hunt down a personal nemesis and either slay it for rewards or convert it into an ally.
Also arriving with the update is Grendel, the game's 42nd warframe. Grendel's abilities are powered by his consuming of enemies. You can acquire Grendel by either purchasing him from the marketplace or
framing for his components in-game. The classic Ember and Vauban warframes have also been updated — stats adjusted and core Abilities re-imagined — to make them feel more appropriate to how
Warframe's gameplay has evolved.
Lastly, the second phase of Digital Extremes' melee changes has arrived, featuring hundreds of weapon buffs, re-balanced stats, Heavy Attacks, melee attacks linked to juggles, and a reworked combo system.
