In March of this year, Nippon Ichi Software — also known as NIS America here in the West — announced a brand-new intellectual property in the form of Void Terrarim; a care simulator with rogue-like elements scheduled to release at some point this year.

The announcement trailer didn't reveal much about the game per se, although we did find out that the game was going to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in summer. The developer did promise to reveal more information, as well as a gameplay trailer, in the near future.

In Void Terrarium, players take control of a maintenance robot that stumbles upon a girl named Toriko — who is revealed to be the last remnant of human civilisation — and have to ensure her survival; fighting enemies and collecting items in order to keep her safe and sound.

If you happen to have played any of the games in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, you'll feel right at home, since Void Terrarium's exploration and combat are actually quite similar to Nintendo and Spike Chunsoft's popular Pokémon rogue-like title.

Today, NIS America has shared a new trailer for Void Terrarium, letting players know that the game has finally become available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch today; at least in New Zealand, since the game actually became available last week in Europe and North America, but today the day in which the game has officially, and finally become available everywhere.

Take a look:

Even in the darkest times, hope is homegrown. Void Terrarium chronicles the story of a robot and a young girl in a world devastated by enigmatic events. Explore hauntingly beautiful ruins in search of food and supplies, outfit and maintain the "terrarium" in which you live, and do whatever it takes to protect and nurture the last surviving human in this care simulator-meets-roguelike title.

Void Terrarium is available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch today.
