Saber Interactive has just announced that the World of War Z video game will be getting a Game of the Year edition for the PlayStation 4, Xbox one, and PC(EPIC) — which is including all of the previously released downloadable content for the game, as well as a brand-new multiplayer package.

As reported by IGN, World War Z: Game of the Year Edition's brand-new content will be including a new mission PvE mission that will be set in Marseille, France, and also new weapon and character packs to make things even more iteresting.

According to Saber Interactive CEO Matt Karch, "World War Z has had a huge impact on our studio in all respects. It feels fantastic to hit goals that perhaps a few years ago seemed unimaginable. We have over 10 million registered players that have played the game and our concurrent player counts are regularly in the tens of thousands."

Karch also revealed that over 9.9 million Epic Games Store players picked up the game during World War Z's free week, with an impressive 250 thousand users playing simultaneously across all available platforms. As if that wasn't enough, the game was also revealed to be the most successfull free game on the Epic Games Store; managing, even, to top downloads and number of players for Left 4 Dead 2.

"During our free week on the Epic Games Store 9.9 million people claimed the game and we peaked at 250k simultaneous users across platforms. The Epic team told me WWZ was the most successful free game on EGS yet - we even topped Left 4 Dead 2 in terms of downloads and number of players."

Saber Interactive also made an exciting announcement, as they revealed that World War Z: Game of the Year Edition will also be released on the Nintendo Switch, although details about the game's release on Nintendo's handheld hybrid console were not disclosed at the time.

Thanks to the people over at IGN, we also have a first look at some gameplay of the Marseille mission for World War Z: Game of the Year Edition, so be sure to check it out down below.

Give it a watch:

Choose from six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps. Outlive the dead through intense four-player co-op campaign missions around the world, including New York, Jerusalem, Moscow and Tokyo, and battle both zombies and real human opponents in competitive, team-based Players vs. Players vs. Zombies (PvPvZ) multiplayer.

World War Z is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic); will soon release for the Nintendo Switch.
