Seth Rollins Officially Lands The Cover Of WWE 2K18
It was rumoured last week, but WWE and 2K Games have officially announced today that former WWE Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins will adorn the cover of the upcoming WWE 2K18 video game.
Love them or hate them, the WWE 2K video games are very popular and the yearly reveal of who will be on the cover is always exciting. In recent years, current Superstars have been swapped out for more mainstream wrestlers like Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock, but the developers have clearly realised that it's fans who buy these games and gone for a big name of today.
That is Seth Rollins, the man who beat Triple H at this year's WrestleMania and someone who has won both the Money in the Bank briefcase and the WWE Championship. Here's what Rollins had to say about being chosen to adorn the cover in an interview with ESPN:
"It was an honor for me. You look at some of the previous names who have graced the cover of WWE video games over the years and to be amongst those is truly an honor and I'm humbled by it. I'm also just excited for our generation of guys, the new generation of up-and-coming guys, to be the first of us to be on the cover. It's cool and not just exciting for me but our entire locker room."
Rumour has it that Kurt Angle will be this year's Legend, so chances are we'll see him heavily promoting the game as well. Who knows, perhaps WWE will turn Rollins heel (i.e. make him a bad guy) in time for WWE 2K18's release so that he can feud with the Olympic Gold Medallist! That's something a lot of wrestling fans would love to see, but at least we'll be able to play it in this game!
