Following the record-breaking open beta for Battlefield 6 last weekend, EA is gearing up for another weekend of explosive fun. The second open beta for the highly anticipated blockbuster shooter is set to begin on Thursday, August 14th (1:00 AM PT / 4:00 AM ET / 08:00 UTC) and will run until Sunday, August 17 (1:00 AM PT / 4:00 AM ET / 08:00 UTC). This beta represents one final opportunity to jump into Battlefield 6 before its launch in October.
The first weekend's beta provided some valuable information for the developer and they've already made adjustments based on player feedback.
"During Week 2, we're delivering more variety and choice for how you’d like to play with more playlists rotating between multiple different game modes. As an example, the All-Out Warfare playlist will include both Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush. The in-game descriptions for each mode will tell you which modes are included in the rotation," the developer said. "Rotating through multiple modes within playlists helps us understand what our community enjoys as we shape the launch experience, and enables us to keep more fan-favorite modes available at the same time."
Additionally, a new Custom Search feature is being added, allowing players to choose their favorite combinations of maps and modes.
Rush and Squad Deathmatch will now be available alongside returning game modes likee Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill. The types of playlists will update throughout the beta weekend, with the following schedule:
Day 1, Thursday 14th
- Conquest
- Rush
- Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush)
- Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill)
- Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

Battlefield 6 is the first new game in the long-running shooter franchise since 2021's Battlefield 2042, which was met with widespread criticism upon release. Before that was 2018's Battlefield 5 which also received mixed reviews. So for Battlefield 6, EA went back to the drawing board, using lessons from the prevous two games. They've restored fan-requested features and refined core mechanics. And so far, early impressions from the first beta have been mostly positive.
Battlefield 6 is slated to launch on October 10, 2025 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
