Battlefield 6's launch has been met with record-breaking success and mostly positive reception from the gaming community. Since its release earlier this month, Battlefield 6 has gone on to sell over 7 million copies, with players racking up over 172 million matches played.

Next week will mark the start of Battlefield 6's first season of post-launch content. Season 1 will be split into three phases, with the first phase, Rogue Ops, going live on October 28th. Arriving alongside the new season will be Update 1.1.1.0.

The update "marks the next step in our ongoing journey to evolve and expand the Battlefield 6 experience," according to the developer, with a focus on refining core gameplay systems and technical performances, as well as addressing player feedback across all modes.

The update will deliver a huge round of fixes across nearly every part of the game. Player animations and mechanics have received extensive polish. Vaulting, diving, climbing, and aiming are said to be smoother and more consistent, with fixes to hitboxes, steady aim, and prone transitions. A number of visual glitches have also been resolved, including clipping, disappearing hands or heads, and awkward camera behavior.

Weapon balance has also been fine-tuned, with reworked dispersion and sniper sway, alongside better reticle settling and bipod handling. "These changes address cases where accuracy behaved inconsistently," the developer explained, adding that it should "bring overall firing behavior closer to the intended balance between precision, control, and weapon power."

Vehicles and gadgets also see quality-of-life updates, from improved haptic feedback and visual polish to fixes for resupply, collisions, and debris behavior. Lastly, the update brings broad improvements to map visibility, lightning, and UI elements.

Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.1.0 will go live on Tuesday, October 28th at 09:00 UTC (5:00 a.m. ET / 2:00 a.m. PT). This will be followed by the launch of Season 1 content at 15:00 UTC (11:00 a.m. ET / 8:00 a.m. ET). The full changelog can be found here.

As previously revealed, Battlefield 6 Season 1 will kick off with Rogue Ops. The first phase of the season will introduce the new Blackwell Fields map as well as the Strikepoint game mode. The season will also introduce new weapons, including the SOR-300SC (carbine), GGH-22 (sidearm), Mini Scout (sniper rifle), and rail cover and LPVO (attachments).

Season 1 will run through the end of the year, with the next two phases, California Resistance and Winter Offensive, launching on November 18th and December 9th, respectively. California Resistance will introduce the new Eastwood map and Sabotage limited time mode, while Winter Offensive will have the Ice Lock Empire State limited time event map and Ice Lock limited time event.
