The STARCRAFT Tabletop Miniatures Game Opens Pre-Orders Tomorrow, Here Is The Full Breakdown And 2026 Roadmap

Blizzard's iconic real-time strategy universe is warping from digital battlefields to the tabletop in a big way. Archon Studio, the Polish powerhouse behind hits like Dungeons & Lasers, has partnered with Blizzard for StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game which is a full-fledged 32mm skirmish wargame capturing the frantic endgame clashes of StarCraft and StarCraft II. No more mouse-clicking zerglings into meat grinders; now you'll command them with dice, terrain, and tactical depth on your hobby desk. Read on for the full details and how you can get your hands on the product as soon as possible!

First teased at Essen Spiel '25 with playable demos that drew crowds, the game also drew a lot of fans eyes in with a promo model of the fan favorite: Zeratul, a stunning Protoss dark templar that plays a major role in the StarCraft universe.

Recent AMAs on YouTube and Facebook confirmed it's no vaporware: production molds are ready, rules go public tomorrow, and pre-orders for the Founders Edition kick off March 10th at 6 PM CET (12 PM ET) via ArchonStudio.com, running until April 17th. Shipping targets late April to May 2026 which is blisteringly fast for minis, skipping the Kickstarter and wait for years pitfalls entirely.

This isn't a board game cash-grab like the 2007 Fantasy Flight StarCraft (RIP those clunky cardboard standees). It's a competitive wargame for 2-6 players, emphasizing StarCraft's asymmetry: Terrans bunker up with firepower, Zerg swarm and evolve, Protoss warp in with psionic might. Matches run 45-90 minutes at 1000 points, using D6 resolution with smart twists and no generic dice-fest here.

Core mechanics shine in playtests. Fog of War lets units lurk in reserves, ambushing like a cloaked ghost. Supply Limit prevents snowballing defeats, mimicking RTS economy pressure. The Surge Die injects controlled chaos for players as they roll it for bold maneuvers, rewarding aggression without pure RNG. Faction rules nail the lore: Zerg creep spreads buffs, Terran supply drops reinforcements, Protoss chronoboost accelerates actions. It's skirmish-scale StarCraft, minus the APM grind.

The Founders Edition hooks newcomers with value-packed starters, exclusive to pre-order. Retail follows about 3 months later.

Terran vs Zerg Two-Player Starter Box ($199): Everything for instant games, including rules, dice, tokens, playmat, and modular terrain (walls evoking Koprulu Sector outposts).

Terran

  • 2x Marine Squads (6 models each)
  •  1x Marauder Squad (2 models)
  •  1x Medic Squad (3 models)

Zerg

  • 1x Queen
  • 2x Zergling Squads (12 models each)
  • 1x Roach Squad (3 models)

Protoss Faction Box ($109): Standalone entry for Khala faithful, building to 1000 points.

  • 2x Zealot Squads
  • 1x Adept Squad
  • 1x Sentry
  • Possible Pylon terrain (TBD)

This only a small bite of what is available for players. There are tons of other sets and bundles for pre-orders that you can take a look at, however we will go more deep into that in a future article!

The minis are high-injection PS plastic (HIPS), 32mm heroics with magnetic bases, clear parts for energy shields/creep, and painter-friendly details. Sprues shown at Essen looked production-ready crisp vents on marines, writhing zerg spines.

Expansions roll quarterly, no paywall gaps:

Founders - Q2 2026: Starters above
2 - June: Siege Tank, Ravager, Immortal, Zeratul (retail)
3 - August: High Templar + Tassadar, Defiler, Raven, Nova, Zagara; High Ground/Lost Temple terrain
4 - October: Flyers: Banshee, Mutalisk, Scout
5 - December: TBA

Narrative campaign by Sam Pearson (Infinity, TM) should arrive post-Wave 3, with subfaction rules. Tournaments summer '26 with a competitive scene inbound right away as you would assume.

Pricing tiers smartly for fans: $39-49 unit boxes let armies grow modularly. Bundles teased for value and ease to get everything all at once (e.g., all-three-factions).

For RTS vets weary of digital metas, this revives the thrill: paint your swarm, table-top zerg rush. In a minis market craving fresh IPs amid GW fatigue, StarCraft TTMG positions as 2026's breakout for Table Top Gaming as Blizzard's franchise finally gets the plastic it deserves. Don't forget to set your alarms on your phone and pre-order at noon ET tomorrow. The Zerg rush is coming and it won't stop.
