BATTLEFIELD 6 Datamine Reveals Six More Games Modes Possibly On The Way

In addition to the already confirmed Sabotage and Strikepoint game modes coming to Battlefield 6 later this month, four more game modes have been discovered in the game's files.

Battlefield 6 could receive as many as six new game modes in the coming weeks and months. Dataminers have discovered strings of code in the multiplayer files of the game that point to names of six new modes: Raid, Payload, Sabotage, Squad Shootout, Strinkpoint, and Tank Hunt.

The specific lines read:

  • Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Raid/Mode/MUT_Raid
  • Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Payload/Mode/MUT_Payload
  • Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Sabotage/Mode/MUT_Sabotage
  • Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/SquadShootout/Mode/MUT_SquadShootout
  • Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Strikepoint/Mode/MUT_Strikepoint
  • Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/TankHunt/Mode/MUT_TankHunt

Of these six game modes, two are already confirmed by EA and Battlefield Studios: Strikepoint and Sabotage. Both game modes are brand new to the Battlefield franchise and will be arriving over the next couple of weeks.

Strikepoint, designed for 4v4 combat, is described as "an intense, small team tactical mode where a squad fights another squad across multiple rounds to capture a key objective." It will be added to Battlefield 6 on October 28th with the launch of Season 1's first phase, Rogue Ops.

Sabotage will be coming in Phase 2, California Resistance, on November 18th. This is an 8v8, combat-focused game mode where you must destroy as many sites as possible before the round time finishes.

EA has made no official mention of the other four game modes discovered in the files, and none of them have been featured in any previous Battlefield games. That said, some older Battlefield games have had conceptually similar game modes to what the ones listed above sound like. Tank Hunt, for instance, sounds like a vehicular-focused game mode similar to Tank Superiority, which was introduced in the Armored Kill DLC for Battlefield 3. While you didn't necessarily hunt tanks in this game mode, it did feature plenty of tanks and armored vehicles.

Payload sounds like an escort mode in which one team probably has to defend a single moving payload, while the other tries to stop it. This is a very common game mode in many team-based multiplayer games, but we've never seen it in Battlefield before. Squad Shootout sounds like a deathmatch-style game based around smaller teams, while Raid could be another large team-focused mode.

EA's post-launch plans have only taken us to the end of the year, so if these four additional game modes were to come to Battlefield 6, it will likely be sometime in 2026.

Battlefield 6 is off to a tremendous start, shattering Battlefield franchise records. EA has confirmed it sold over 7 million copies during the first three days of launch, making it the biggest opening ever for the franchise.

“We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point,” said Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President. "We appreciate you joining us for Battlefield 6’s momentous launch. We have so much more to come in the weeks ahead.”
