After a somewhat slow start to the year, things are heating up for PlayStation in March. Next month's calendar is looking bright for gamers. We're seeing a mix of sports games, extraction shooters, RPGs, and more coming to PlayStation 5.
Here's a quick rundown of the new games releasing for PS5 in March 2026. Keep in mind, this may not be every game, as we always get some unexpected indie titles, but these are the most prominent games launching next month.
Kicking things off is probably the biggest game of the month, Marathon, an extraction multiplayer shooter from Bungie. The creators of Halo and Destiny return with another sci-fi blockbuster, although Marathon has a clear focus on player versus player gameplay with loot extraction mechanics. While we've seen extraction shooters like Arc Raiders blow up over the past couple of months, I'm not sure this is exactly what Bungie's audience was hoping for from the developer. But if you're a fan of PvP, this certainly seems like a game worth checking out. It launches on March 5 and is priced at a modest $39.99, perhaps indicating we shouldn't expect any sort of major story campaign.
The following week, we are greeted by two major releases on March 13: Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and WWE 2K26. These couldn't be more polar opposite games. Monster Hunter Stories 3 is an RPG set in the Monster Hunter world where instead of hunting the monsters, you become a Rider, raising and bonding with your favorite monsters. WWE 2K26 is pretty self explanatory if you're a fan of wrestling.
For baseball fans, Sony's annual release of MLB The Show comes on March 17th. I know these annual sports games get a bad rep of being just a roster update year-in and year-out, but MLB The Show 26 seems to have made improvements across the board, including the the Bear Down Pitching system and Big Zone Hitting Options, an all-in-one Trade HUB for Franchise, more control over your journey in Road to the Show, and more.
Arriving just a few days later is Crimson Desert, an action adventure game from Pearl Abyss. Originally a prequel to Black Desert Online, it was eventually turned into its own standalone single player title where you now explore the open-world continent of Pywel. Playing as Kliff, a member of the Greymanes, you must navigate this medieval fantasy world populated by rival factions, mythical creatures, and arcane forces. early impressions of Crimson Desert have been positive with some comparing the exploration to that of Elden Ring.
