Warner Bros. Games and DC have unveiled a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming video game LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The previously announced title serves as an homage to the Dark Knight, retelling Bruce Wayne’s epic journey from origin to legend, drawing inspiration from decades of Batman films, television series, comic books, and video games.

In the newest cinematic trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, fans are treated to a playful recreation of the unforgettable museum scene from DC’s 1989 Batman film. In the original movie, the Joker, portrayed by Jack Nicholson, seizes control of the Gotham City Museum and transforms it into his own twisted art exhibit. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight cleverly reimagines the moment in brick-built form, complete with the energetic backdrop of Prince’s iconic track “Partyman.”

Here's the original scene from DC's Batman.

And here's the recreation in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

Developed by TT Games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an action-adventure videogame inviting players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the Caped Crusader from origin to legend. Inspired by decades of Batman films, television shows, comic books, and games, this heroic story-led campaign combines DC lore and signature LEGO humor in the ultimate LEGO Batman experience.

The main campaign in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight follows Bruce Wayne's journey from origin to legend as he trains with The League of Shadows, becomes the hero of Gotham City, and forges a new family of allies with Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl. The game features seven playable characters: Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Each has their own unique skills and signature gadgets to help uncover crimes and complete challenges.

When not completing the main campaign, you'll be free to explore the immersive Gotham City, uncovering secrets and surprises. Players can collect 100 different Batsuits and more than 20 vehicles inspired by the Dark Knight's 86-year legacy. There are also over 250 Batcave props and trophies you can collect to decorate and display in the Batcave.

Now available for pre-order, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is set to launch on May 29, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). The Deluxe Edition ($89.99) includes 72-hour early access beginning on May 26, 2026, along with the Arkham Trilogy Pack, Batman Beyond Pack, Party Music Pack, and Mayhem Collection.
