Battlefield 6 has already shattered franchise sales records, selling over 7 million copies at launch back in October. It’s easily one of this year's must-buy games for first-person shooter fans, so we weren’t sure if we’d see the blockbuster discounted this holiday season. But as retailers begin rolling out their Black Friday deals, we’re starting to see slight price reductions.
Over at Best Buy, the Standard Edition of Battlefield 6 is currently available for $59.99 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, a $10 savings (about 15%) from its normal price. It's the same price over on Amazon, which just launched its Black Friday sale today.
For the really passionate fans, the Phantom Edition is also available at a slight discount. Normally $99.99, you can get it for $89.99 at Best Buy as well. As a quick reminder, the Phantom Edition includes all of the following in-game bonus items:
- Battlefield Pro Token
- The Phantom Pack, featuring:
- Phantom Squad: 4 Soldier Skins
- 2 Weapon Packages
- Melee Knife Weapon Skin
- Vehicle Skin
- Weapon Sticker
- Weapon Charm
- Dog Tag
- Phantom XP Boost Set
It's worth noting that these discounts apply only to the physical copy of the game, so if you own an Xbox Series S or the PS5 Digital Edition with no disc drive, you'll have to turn to the Xbox and PlayStation digital storefronts.
Thankfully, the game is discounted there as well. Both Microsoft and Sony have launched their own digital sales, and Battlefield 6 is included in each. On Xbox, the Standard Edition is priced at $59.49, while the Phantom Edition comes in at $84.99. It's priced the same for PS5 on the PlayStation Store.
Given how well Battlefield 6 has already sold -- and how it’s positioned as one of this year’s must-buy holiday blockbuster -- I doubt we’ll see it drop below these prices. We’re still waiting for Target and Walmart to reveal their Black Friday deals, but we’ll presumably see a similar 15% price cut, since that discount appears to be coming directly from the publisher.
This 15% holiday discount is also being offered on PC through Steam and EA's digital store.
Arriving almost four years after the tumultuous Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6 was a breath of fresh air for fans of the franchise. A return to the series' roots, Battlefield 6 is set in a modern era, inspired by Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. It embraces a grittier and more realistic tone rather than the ultra-futuristic playstyle we've seen in more recent releases. It also sees the return of the four traditional classes -- Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon -- but with some flexibility in loadouts.
Having been released in October, we're already well into the first season of post-launch content. Just this week, we saw the game's second major content drop with California Resistance, which added a brand new map, Eastwood, along with the limited-time game mode Sabotage and some new weapons and attachments. This came just a few weeks after EA dropped the Rogue Ops update, which added the Blackwell Fields map and Strikepoint game mode.
Looking ahead, EA will continue to support Battlefield 6's robust multiplayer with additional maps, modes, weapons, attachments, and more. This is all on top of the free-to-play battle royale mode, Battlefield REDSEC.
