Based on the movie adaptation of the
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War novel by Max Brooks, Saber Interactive's
World War Z will take us to a post-apocalyptic world during the war between humans and zombies.
As seen in the
World War Z movie released in 2013, Saber Interactive's game will have players battling hordes of zombies in an open world, where they'll have to survive by playing alone with AI teammates or by teaming up with some of their friends.
Saber Interactive's
World War Z is also featuring an interesting concept by having these viscious zombies moving in swarms, just like in the movie, that allows for the development team to make zombies pile up on top of each other in order to climb walls and other surfaces; making them a real threat for the players.
The latest gameplay video for
World War Z gives us a better look at how these swarms of zombies will interact with their environment, showing off how difficult situations can get when they move you in great numbers; all of this to the sound of P.O.D.'s 2002 hit song "
Boom".
Take a look:
Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time on players in a nail-biting action experience around the world, including New York, Moscow, Jerusalem and more.
World War Z will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on the 16th of April.
