Nintendo streamed its "Mr. Sakurai Presents" production earlier today and revealed new content coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Two Xenoblade Chronicles characters, Pyra and Mythra, are joining the ever-expanding roster. The company also revelaed a new map, "Cloud Sea of Alrest", being added to the pool.
The live stream, which can be found here, revealed a lot of new details on Ultimate's new characters and maps. Sakurai reminds fans that the characters' appearance and balance is not final and could change before release. This is just the first demo that he can actually play and show fans. The two female characters will drop later today.
Sakurai played a bit on the new map and showed how it changes scenery depending on several factors. Other supporting characters make appearences in the map as well. We see Nia/Dromarch, Poppi/Tora, Brighid/Morag and Zeke/Pandoria. These other characters are features of the new map and will not be actually playable (as far as we know).
Check out the full presentation, which is 40 minutes long, where Sakurai goes in detail on the characters' moveset, design and animations. He shows what abilities they posses, how they traverse the battlefield, variation in their colors and even shows some concept art.
